-The Washington Capitals face off tonight against their Southeast Division rival, the Tampa Bay Lightning. Rendering division rival status moot prior to the game tonight is the news that the Capitals have already clinched the division, with 15 games to go.
-The good news for tonight's game is that the Capitals penalty kill looked better after going 4 for 5 last game against the Hurricanes. They'll need it after allowing powerplay goals to Steve Downie and Vincent Lecavalier last week almost cost them the game. They have killed 10 of 17 Lightning powerplays this season, a 58.8% kill rate. Ouch.
-It's another chance for Alexander Ovechkin to pad his stats tonight. He has scored 3 goals and 7 points in 4 games this season against Tampa Bay. For his career, Ovie has 23 goals and 47 points in 34 games versus the Lightning.
-And last but not least, former Cap Brian Pothier scored the overtime game-winning goal against the Penguins last night. Seeing the Penguins lose never gets old.
I don't really hate people from Pittsburgh or their fans because I know at the end of the day, they have to live there.
